A hub built for the community.
Drones, opened up to everyone.
The Smart Drone Hub was created at DRB-HICOM University of Automotive Malaysia to make flight accessible — to turn a campus of workshops, labs and engineering know-how into a home for the whole drone community.
The university's philosophy is “by the industry, for the industry.” We extend that spirit to the community: somewhere a curious student, a serious researcher and a weekend FPV pilot can all store their gear, fix a crash, learn to fly legally and race under the same roof.

Four principles that guide the hub.
Community first
We exist for students, researchers and makers — not big industry. Everyone's welcome on the bench and in the air.
Hands-on, always
Real tools, real flight hours, real builds. You learn by doing, supported by people who fly every week.
Credible & certified
Backed by a university engineering ecosystem and training aligned to Malaysia's civil-aviation standards.
Open to everyone
Concession pricing, loaner gear and beginner-friendly sessions keep the barrier to entry low.
Built for the community, not big industry.
Students
Affordable access to gear, space and certification to turn a class project into real flight hours.
Researchers
Reliable storage, build support and mission training for mapping, inspection and field work.
Makers & Hobbyists
A bench, a community and an arena to build faster, fly better and meet your people.
Clubs & Small Teams
Team-building sessions, venue hire and group certification scaled to your size and budget.
Credibility built into the campus.
